The federal government has announced a review into building Australia's space industry.

The review will examine whether a dedicated space agency is required and what the long-term investment strategy would look like.

Former CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) chief Megan Clark will chair the review that is expected to report by the end of March 2018.

Australia is currently one of just two OECD (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) nations without a space agency.
