The federal government has amended its advice to Australians travelling in Britain, saying they should stay vigilant and monitor local media for updates in the wake of the Manchester attack.

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop gave the parliament an update on the latest travel warnings.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has confirmed Australia's terror threat level will remain at "probable" in the wake of the Manchester bombing.
