Rafael Nadal defeated Grigor Dimitrov 6-3 5-7 7-6 6-7 6-4 and going to face Federer in the final.

Heading into the women’s doubles final with 76 titles and 10 Grand Slams between them, the line-up of Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Lucie Safarova against Andrea Hlavackova and Peng Shuai lacked nothing for experience.

The American-Czech duo of newly-crowned doubles world No.1 Mattek-Sands and her partner Safarova had tasted victory in Melbourne before, winning the 2015 title, and the second seeds did it again this year with an entertaining 6-7(4) 6-3 6-3 victory.

Then Sania Mirza (India) and Ivan Dodig (Cro) defeated Australia’s Samantha Stosur and Sam Groth in the Mixed Double Semi Final.
