SPORTING greats have been quick to praise Serena Williams after the American superstar claimed her 23rd Grand Slam title, the most in the open era.
Serena topped big sister Venus, 6-4 6-4, putting her one ahead of Steffi Graf who she previously shared the record with.
Australian tennis great Rennae Stubbs believes that with the win, Williams is the greatest tennis player ever.
“Serena has 23 Grand Slams. Until someone gets 23 Grand Slams, she is the greatest tennis player of all time,” Stubbs said.
Serena Williams (USA) defeated Venus Williams (USA) 6-4 and 6-4.
