THE big names finally fought back on day eight of the Australian Open with Rafael Nadal, Milos Raonic, Serena Williams and Johanna Konta all winning through to the quarter-finals on Monday.
The Williams sisters ensured their potential fairytale match-up in the final of the women’s draw remained on track when they both won through to the last eight, however, Serena must on Tuesday confront the huge challenge that is a quarter-final against Konta.
In the men’s draw, Rafael Nadal’s thrilling win over big-hitting French star Gael Monfils was the highlight of the day after Raonic, Grigor Dimitrov and David Goffin also won through.
