Australia's unemployment rate has dropped slightly.

It's down to 5.7 percent, from the previous level of 5.9 percent.

The total number of people with jobs rose by 37,400 people in April... but that's because part-time jobs were up by 49,000.

Full-time employment fell by 11,600 jobs.

Opposition Employment spokesman    Brendon O'connor    says it shows even though unemployment overall has fallen, there's still a problem with employment in Australia

But Employment Minister Michaelia Cash the figures have to be seen in a broader context.
