Bandaranayake International Airport closed for 8 hours from today.

Bandaranayake International Airport closed for eight hours from 8.30 am to 4.30pm from today till April 06 due to the renovations in the runway.

Roughly 20 flights will have to be cancelled on a daily basis during this period.

Airport officials urged passengers to arrive five hours before the boarding time.

The renovations are carried out by a Chinese company, amount to 7.2 billion rupees.
