Businessman Dick Smith has urged politicians to halve the country's immigration intake in a one million dollar television ad campaign.
He says he plans at the next election, to put $2 million into marginal seats supporting the party that has a plan to limit population growth.
He says the Fair Go campaign aims to also increase the tax bracket for the high earners.
Mr Smith says he's part of Australia's wealthiest 1 per cent and he can afford to pay more tax.
