With just hours left before election enrolments close, Australia's youth are being encouraged to make their voices count. Recent figures from the Australian Electoral Commission show almost half of 18 year olds aren't registered to vote. The Australian Electoral Commission says citizens have until 8pm tonight (mon)to either enrol or update details online.

Even though voting is compulsory for Australian citizens aged 18 years or over, you need to be enrolled in order to vote.

If you're not on the roll by 8pm on May 23 - you won't be able to vote until 2019.
