The French President Emmanuel Macron is in Germany on his first official trip abroad a day after being inaugurated.
Mr Macron has been meeting with Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin, where the two leaders discussed reform of the European Union.
He used the occasion to reaffirm his support for an integrated Europe.
Chancellor Merkel acknowledged the role France plays in sustaining the European project.
