The Sports Minister says he intends to introduce laws preventing the sale or auction of any medal won by an athlete in an international event.
Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara made the observation during an event held on today (07/06).
This came after Olympic Silver Medalist Susanthika Jayasinghe claimed that she has decided to auction her medal. Jayasinghe also alleged that the ministry has stopped paying her salary for her work as a consultant to the Sports Ministry.
