Katunayake airport runaway will re-open today.

The rehabilitated and modernised runway of the Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake, will be re-open today (06/04) at 12noon SL time.

Deputy Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Ashok Abeysingha said the rehabilitated runway will be able to accommodate A380s as the width of the runway has been increased to 75 metres from 60 metres.

50 million dollars has been spent for the project.
