Highlights
  • NSW recorded 356 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. At least 57 cases were infectious in the community, and the isolation status of 157 remains under investigation.
  • Tragically there have been four deaths overnight.
  • Canterbury-Bankstown area remains the area in which cases are increasing the most.

Thnings to keep in mind....

  • Every time you leave your house, assume that you are coming into contact with someone who has the virus. The lockdown is helping to keep cases lower than they would be otherwise, but Delta still represents a real threat.
  • We know that vaccination is a key tool in reducing the spread and preventing hospitalisation. Please protect yourselves, your families, your loved ones and your community by coming forward to get vaccinated. Anyone 18 and older can get vaccinated. You can go to the Vaccine Eligibility Checker or use Hot Doc to find appointments available near you.
  • Higher vaccination rates will give us additional freedoms. NSW hopes to reach 5 million vaccinations by the end of next week and 6 million by the end of August. Given the risk posed by the current outbreak, you are encouraged to bring forward your second dose of AstraZeneca to 4 weeks.
