Labor has announced a four-million dollar plan to boost the numbers of apprenticeships, if it wins the election.
Under the policy, a 10-per cent mandatory quota for apprentices, would apply to federally-funded projects over 10-million dollars.
The plan would also include an apprenticeship advocate and a website advertising placements.
Opposition spokeswoman Sharon Bird says apprenticeships provide a much needed pathway for young people and retrenched workers.
