Passengers on a Malaysian Airlines flight that was forced to make an emergency landing, have told of their ordeal.
Flight MH122 from Sydney to Kuala Lumpur was close to the West Australian coastline when it was forced to divert to Alice Springs on Thursday (18/01) afternoon.
Malyasian Airlines blamed "technical reasons" for the emergency landing.
A passenger to Mumbai, Sanjeev Pandey [PAN-dee] has told SBS, the experience was terrifying.
"The sound was scary. I never experienced that sort of situation in my life. All of the passengers they feel very worried and some were praying. Some were crying, and you know. The situation was a bit tense and it was a scary day." he said.
All affected passengers will be transferred from Alice Springs to Kuala Lumpur on another flight set to depart today at 4.45pm.
