Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has paid tribute to battles past and present and declared Australia and Israel's relationship more profound than ever in fighting terrorism.
Mr Turnbull and his wife Lucy have received a ceremonial welcome in Jerusalem, greeted by Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara.
Mr Netanyahu says the two nations share common values.
Mr Turnbull has spoken enthusiastically about his welcome in Israel and Mr Netanyahu's visit to Australia earlier this year.
The two leaders have also acknowledged the centenary of the World War One Battle of Beersheba, being commemorated with a series of events today (31/10)
The pair held one-on-one and bilateral meetings ahead of a private dinner with their spouses at Mr Netanyahu's residence.
