Deputy National Party leader Fiona Nash has told federal parliament she has received advice from the British Home Office that she may be a British citizen.
Senator Nash has told parliament on yesterday (17/08) she sought advice from the Home Office on Monday about her citizenship status.
She says a caseworker advised her she "was of the view" the Senator was a British citizen by descent through her Scottish-born father.
Senator Nash says, based on the advice of the solicitor-general, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has advised there is no need for her to step down as Deputy Nationals leader.
