Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has praised the deal struck between Labor and the Coalition that aims to bring an end to the dual citizenship saga plaguing parliament.
Senators will be expected to voluntarily disclose their citizenship status by December the 1st.
Malcolm Turnbull says it's a good development and a sensible way forward.
Frontbencher Christopher Pyne has played down the prospect of Australians going to an early election next year over the citizenship crisis.
Some senior ministers are reportedly concerned about the prime minister's handling of the saga and fear it could force the government to the polls.
But Mr Pyne has told Channel 10 the coalition can still govern effectively and isn't worried about losing power.
