The lawyer for former Thailand Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra (shin-uh-wot) says an appeal is still undecided, after she was sentenced to five years in prison.
Thailand's Supreme Court found the former Prime Minister guilty of negligence over a costly rice subsidy scheme that helped bring her to power in 2011.
Ms Shinawatra, whose government was ousted in 2014, fled abroad last month fearing that the military government would seek a harsh sentence.
She could have faced 10 years in prison over the scheme that cost the country billions of dollars.
Ms Shinawatra's lawyer, Norrawit Larlaeng says the team will now discuss further actions.
