Opposition Leader Bill Shorten has declared that Sunday penalty rates won't be cut, despite the Fair Work Commission not yet deciding on the matter.

The Commission is considering if Sunday rates for hospitality and retail workers will be brought in line with the Saturday pay scale after the election.

Mr Shorten had stated he would accept the Commission's recommendations on the matter, but yesterday  (wed) stated that he's sure the Sunday penalties won't be dropped.
