The number of Chinese nationals appealing rejected applications for refugee visas more than doubled last year.

That's according to The Administrative Appeals Tribunal’s annual report, which was published on Tuesday (oct 30).

While the number of Chinese nationals appealing rejected protection visas rose sharply in the last year, applicants from Malaysia made the largest number of appeals.

The overall number of applications about refugee decisions has risen by 42 per cent in the last two years.
