Total fire bans have been declared in a number of New South Wales regions today (22/01) as firefighters continue to battle blazes already underway across the state.
Bans are in place for the Southern Ranges, Central Ranges, Greater Hunter and Greater Sydney.
Among the fires still causing concern is a blaze in the Royal National Park in Sydney's south, which remains closed (mon).
New South Wales Rural Fire Service deputy commissioner Rob Rogers says 35 fires are being fought across the state and conditions are set to make it a difficult day.
