Federal government frontbencher Christopher Pyne says he expects proposed corporate tax cuts to pass the Senate next week, before parliament rises for its Easter break.
Opposition from the Labor Party and the Greens mean the government must continue to lobby for crossbench support to get the cuts passed, with the votes of senators Derryn Hinch and Tim Storer particularly key.
If senators Hinch and Storer vote for the legislation, along with the One Nation party's three senators, then the legislation will pass.
Both senators Hinch and Storer are undecided as to which way they will vote.
Treasurer Scott Morrison says opposition to the tax cuts doesn't make sense.
One Nation has not formally committed to voting for the legislation, but is leaning towards doing so, and has secured government funding for 1,000 apprenticeships across the country as an incentive.
But Labor senator Doug Cameron says all that shows is that One Nation is not standing up to the government as it should.
