Climbing Uluru banned from 2019

Uluru attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year, but from October 2019 climbing the rock will be banned. In 2010, it was announced the ban could be introduced if the proportion of climbers fell below 20 per cent. Figures show only 16 per cent of visitors made the climb between 2011 and 2015.
