Several states in Australia are seeing a surge in COVID cases driven by the JN.1 [[J-N-point-1]]subvariant. The variant is highly transmissible and could be serious for vulnerable parts of the population. But most elderly Australians are not up-to-date with COVID vaccine booster shots, and that's causing concern among experts.
