Professor Janaka Ekanayake recognised by IEEE for his contribution to education in renewable energy

Prof Janaka Bandara Ekanayake, from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the University of Peradeniya has been named an IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Fellow. He is being recognized for contributions to education in renewable energy integration and smart grid. Professor Ekanayake believe to be the only Sri Lankan named as a Fellow of IESL, Fellow of IET (UK) and Fellow of IEEE (USA) and the only academic elevated to the grade of Fellow of IEEE while in service in Sri Lanka. He is also a distinguish lecturer of IEEE Power Engineering Society. SBS Sinhalese interviewed professor Ekanayake regarding this achievement.
