Renewed calls to increase welfare benefits

There are renewed calls to increase welfare benefits, with a Parliamentary inquiry raising concerns about the difficulty of living off the current payment system. The Australian Council for Social Service is demanding a 75-dollar-a-week increase and the idea has the backing of the Business Council and economists.
