Australians will have to wait before getting a clearer picture about the outcome of the federal election. Electoral commission officials won't resume counting votes until today (Tuesday 5th July) With over 77 per cent of the vote counted, neither Labor nor the Coalition has managed to secure the 76 House of Representatives seats needed to declare an outright majority. Saturday's federal vote shows a 3.3 per cent swing against the Turnbull Government, making another hung parliament possible. The official count to date from the Australian Electoral Commission has Labor leading in 69 seats and the Coalition in 64. As the count continues, questions are being raised about the futures of Malcolm Turnbull and Bill Shorten as heads of their respective parties. The new powerbrokers -- the independents -- are also being scrutinised. This feature reveals more details.
