Is Australia ready to legislate against coercive control?

The vast majority of women murdered by their partners in Australia are subject to manipulation and a pattern of behavior that experts call coercive control. The criminalization of such behavior could help women, which is why it is now being discussed in parliament. However, domestic violence is a very broad issue and calling it a crime is not enough.
