Even though restrictions were different in each state, Slovak schools were able to continue teaching according to government regulations. It was a win-win situation since the children were allowed an extra time on their PC, parents could see what their kids do at school, and the teachers themselves had the opportunity to see students working independently. Few months later, when they met again in person, they were jumping "like silly Billy", as the principal of Slovak Little School in Melbourne, Ms Marta Kapusta told us. As a member of the Education Commission at the Office for Slovaks Living Abroad, she also coordinates language schools in Australia, and represents Australia and New Zealand within the international institute ISEIA, which brings together academic centers around the world.
In SBS feature, Zuzana Kovačicová also spoke with teachers from Slovak schools in Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney
