For the first album "Polťiv by I'm to the Edge of Light" he won a double platinum record, which is a great success from the point of view of traditional folk music. Stefan believes that people all over the world like to go back to their roots these days, so he wants to stay authentic and interpret folk music in a way which does not detract from the story telling and legacy of the ancestors that this music carries. According to him, folklore is not just a ribbon in one’s hair, or an embroidered vest.
Critics call him Ruthenian Karel Gott, but in his modesty and character, he is first and foremost himself. He is a singer, editor, presenter, husband, father and, as he said to Zuzana Kovacicová, he is a lucky man!
