This year, the Slovenian community in Australia is celebrating a number of special anniversaries. These include 65 years since the first 2 Slovenian Franciscan priests arrived in Australia to work amongst the Slovenian community living here. The Slovenian religious magazine 'Misli' (Thoughts) also marks 65 years since it was first published. The Slovenian Mission of Saints Cyril & Methodius in Kew was formally established 60 years ago and its also 50 years since the Slovenian Franciscan nuns arrived in Australia to work amongst the Slovenian Community. The first and last Archbishop of Ljubljana to visit Australia, before this year, was the late Alojzij Šuštar, who visited here way back in 1983. We spoke to the current Archbishop of Ljubljana, Stane Zore about his visit Down Under and the valuable work which he undertakes in his senior role within the Catholic Church in Slovenia.
