In 2016, the Slovenian community in Australia marks a number of big anniversaries. These are: 65 years since the first 2 Slovenian Franciscan priests arrived in Australia, 65 years since the first publication of the Slovenian magazine 'Misli' (Thoughts), 60 years since the establishment of the St Cyril and Methodius Slovenian Mission in Melbourne and 50 years since the arrival of the Slovenian Franciscan nuns in Australia. The Slovenian Franciscan priests in Australia invited the Archbishop of Ljubljana, Msgr. Stane Zore OFM to visit Australia as part of the celebrations of these milestones. Fr. Ciril Božić OFM OAM EV, who leads the Slovenian Mission in Melbourne spoke to us about the meaning of these anniversaries.
