Bonegilla, first home Down Under for many Slovenians!

Bernadette Zanet, representing the Bonegilla Migrant Experience spoke to us about their recent reunion at the former Bonegilla Camp for refugees and migrants. The BONEGILLA REUNION AND ANNUAL BACK TO BONEGILLA MIGRANT CAMP GATHERING took place on the 2nd and 3rd of November. Over 320,000 people passed through Bonegilla Camp when it was in operation between 1949 and 1971, including many newly arrived Slovenian migrants. Bonegilla Migrant Camp was indeed their first home under the Southern Cross.
