The Slovenian Community in Sydney lost another one of its prominent members with the sad passing of Dušan Lajovic on June 29th 2018 at the age of 93. More on the life of this very popular and respected member of the Slovenian Community in Australia, former diplomat, author and successful businessman. Dušan played a leading role in the movement for Slovenian independence and international recognition in Australia in the early 1990s. He was both the Honorary Consul and Consul General of the Republic of Slovenia for New Zealand and the author of a book titled 'Between Freedom and the Red Star', (Med Svobodo in Rdečo Zvezdo.) Dušan also created UDBA.net, a website, which along with his book, caused much controversy at the time. We speak to Jožica Garden, Stanka Gregorič and Alfred Brežnik, all very well known and respected within the Slovenian Community in Australia, who share their fondest thoughts and memories of this very proud and patriotic Australian Slovenian. May Dušan Lajovic rest in God's peace!
