His final farewell was on September 28th, 2018 with a requiem Mass at the St. Raphael's Slovenian Church in Merrylands. His final resting place is at the Saint Raphael's Slovenian Cemetery at Rookwood. Jože is mourned by his son, Damijan with wife, Lillian and their young family with four girls. Friends and relatives in Slovenia and Australia are also grieving the loss of a very well known and respected member of Sydney's Slovenian Community. Jože's beloved wife, Marija, (Micka), passed away 8 years earlier. Vlado Čeh and Vaso Niksevič pay tribute to their special friend Jože Nemeš, whom they regard as a very generous, sincere and honest man with a heart of gold. He was also a joker with a wicked sense of humour, who loved all people, no matter where they were from. Jože was a very proud Slovenian, who loved his birthplace of Prekmurje, up near the Hungarian border. May Jože Nemeš rest in God's peace.
