Greame Bounday (18 5 1941- 4 10 2018) played Slovenian music in Australia for over 50 years, despite not being of Slovenian background. He played in many Slovenian bands in Melbourne including the legendary Quintet Bled with whom he recorded a record in 1967. Other notable bands which Greame played in include Kristal, The Continentals, Happy Slovenians and Meldoija. In an interview for the Slovenian Program on SBS Radio, Greame mentioned that the reason he loved playing Slovenian music was that 'it felt right!' Greame played bass guitar and also sang in all the bands he was involved with over more than half a century. Katarina Vrisk, author of the Anthology of Slovenian Australian Musicians and Branko Kojc, a close friend of the late Greame Bounday both paid a special tribute to a kind and wonderful gentleman who was both extremely humble and very down to earth. Greame will be sadly missed. May he rest in peace.
