The move comes as the opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA) supporters are flocking to Uhuru Park for the controversial swearing in ceremony of the oppositions leader Raila Odinga and his deputy Kalonzon Musyoka.

It had been widely reported earlier that, the government had summoned key media representatives to statehouse in Nairobi where the broadcasters were adviced against broadcasting live images of the oppositions swearing in ceremony. Hence many are linking the networks being taken off air by the communications authority as punishment to the media houses for disobeying the warning they had been given by the government. Image

Kenya Editors Guild has condemned State House's directive not to broadcast images of the opposition swearing in ceremony.

SBS Swahili continues to follow events surrounding the swearing in ceremony of the opposition principals at Uhuru Park, Nairobi and will keep providing updates.
