Raila Odinga to lead NASA in presidential election

The National Super Alliance (NASA), has made the long awaited announcement that ODM leader Raila A Odinga will be the oppositions flag bearer at the upcoming August presidential election in Kenya.

Former Vice President of Kenya Hon Kalonzo Musyoka, who is also the leader of Wiper Democratic Movement, has been appointed the running mate of Mr Odinga in the upcoming presidential election in Kenya.

Mw Odinga will face off once again against President Uhuru Kenyatta, who is seeking a second term under the ruling coalition of Jubilee.

"I am humbled by the faith shown by my brothers, in giving me the honor to be the flag bearer of NASA. We have had meetings over many days, every thing has been documented.” Mr Odinga said in his acceptance speech, soon after being announced NASA's presidential candidate.

NASA's team was announced on Thursday (27April2017), at a public rally held at Uhuru Park in Nairobi.

Three other prominent figures in NASA Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula and Isaac Ruto, have been given significant roles which they will fulfill should they win the upcoming presidential election in August 2017.

If NASA wins the presidential election in August, Hon Musalia Mudavadi leader of Amani National Congress, will be the Premier Cabinet Secretary in charge of Government coordination.

Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula, will be Deputy Premier CS responsible for economic sector coordination.

Chama cha Mashinani (CCM) party leader Isaac Ruto, will be the Deputy Premier CS responsible for governance and social services sector coordination.
