13 die in Tanzania earthquake

Officials in Tanzania are reporting that 11 people have died with more than 200 more injured following a devastating earthquake in parts of Northwestern Tanzania.

Officials have warned residents against entering buildings, before investigations into the structures stability is confirmed.

 

SBS Swahili spoke with Mr Valerian Katula who sustained injuries as he was fleeing his office at the time of the earthquake.
