Whilst Kenya continues to wage the war on terror against the Somali terror group Al Shabaab in Somalia, the group has responded by launching what appear to be retaliatory attacks within the borders of Kenya.


Teachers who aren't native to areas bordering Kenya and Somalia have been traumatized by regular attacks and killings of their colleagues to the extent of putting in transfer requests to other parts of the country and refusing to report back for duties in their designated work areas.

George Musamali is a former member of an elite unit in the Kenya Police Service. He is now a leading commentator and consultant on security matters in Kenya.

He gave SBS Swahili a detailed analysis on the current security situation in Kenya, where the government and law enforcement agencies are battling various militia groups on a number of fronts.
