Australians of Burundian heritage have been living in NSW for over 15 years without a formal community representative body.
The first attempt to create a community association failed over 6years ago, but as community members told SBS Swahili there was still hope of one day forming an representative body for the community.
Over the weekend SBS Swahili was invited by members of the community to a meeting in which it was hoped the dream of forming the association would be realised. Here's what happened at the meeting.
