Canberra: The week in review 20 July 2018

As politicians continue campaigning across the nation ahead of next weekend's series of by-elections, the government couldn't escape some of this year's perennial issues.

The Prime Minister's Australia's immigration program and energy policy were again on the agenda.

State and territory energy ministers will meet next month to negotiate a final position on the Coalition's National Energy Guarantee policy.

They will have no shortage of reading material: there have now been three major energy reports and investigations made to government.
