Developed nations asked to alleviate refugee burden less well off nations

The issue of asylum seekers and refugees has caused a great deal of angst among world leaders. Recently world leaders met at the UN head quarters in New York where they had extensive discussions on issues pertaining asylum seekers and refugees.

The issue of asylum seekers and refugees has caused a great deal of angst among world leaders. Recently world leaders met at the UN head quarters in New York where they had extensive discussions on issues pertaining asylum seekers and refugees.


There's no doubt aid for refugees has significantly decreased, with wealthy nations being urged to increase their assistance to aid refugees living in less developed nations many of which are also experiencing conflicts.

 

SBS Swahili's correspondent in Burundi Ramadhani Kibuga, visited Kavumu refugee camp which is one of the many refugee camps which hosts refugees from DR Congo and sent us this report.
