SBS Swahili spoke with Mr Theophile Elongo, the Chairman of the NSW Congolese community on the passing of DR Congo's main opposition leader.
Etienne Tshisekedi Wa Mulumbu is ragarded as the father of democracy, he was the former Prime Minister of DR Congo, founder and leader of one of the countries main opposition leader.
Thousands have turned out in Belgium where Mr Tshisekedi was receiving treatment to pay their respects, with similar events taking place around the world including in Sydney, Australia courtesy of the NSW Congolese community.
