Many people participate in sports events and activities for different reasons.
GLAPD International is a not for profit community organisation based in South Western Sydney.
The organisation provides services to communities from East and Central Africa. One of the services GLAPD International provides, is facilitating cohesion in the community through sports events.
The Kenyan community in Sydney will be taking part in an upcoming sports gala organised by GLAPD, SBS Swahili met with a community representative from the Western Sydney based KISWA organisation, who told us about the importance of the gala in fostering cohesion in the community and the importance of sport to an individual and the community. The Sports gala will be held on 2 November, at Whitlam Leasure Centre, 90 Memorial Ave, Liverpool NSW 2170
