How is drought affecting students in regional towns?

Many regional towns in Australia have borne the brunt of the devastating effects of drought.


It is especially hard for students from farming backgrounds, who have to deal with the extra burden of worrying about their family's livelihoods in the farm, whilst at the same time concentrate on excelling in their studies.

Dr Ndungi wa Mungai and Dr Kiprono Langat, are lecturers at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga, they told SBS Swahili about their experiences working in regional Australia, and challenges which some of their students from farming backgrounds go through.
