Tanzanians in the country and in the diaspora have been left buffled by decisions being made by the government which came into power with plenty of fan fare and expectations.


A prominent minister was unceremoniously sacked and replaced less than 24hrs later, whilst at the same time a high profile musician was arrested and released without charges being filed against him after he released a song critical of the state of affairs in Tanzania.

SBS Swahili spoke with some members of the Tanzanian community in Australia about the events unfolding in their homeland.
