Julie Bishop to retire from parliament at upcoming federal election

Former Deputy Prime Minister and high-profile Liberal M-P Julie Bishop has announced she's retiring from politics.


Ms Bishop says she will not re contest her West Australian seat of Curtin at the upcoming federal election.

Ms Bishop says she's confident the Coalition will win the upcoming federal election without her.

She says she will work hard to ensure a Liberal candidate wins preselection for her former seat.
