Lambert Mende: Kabila will not leave untill a successor is elected

Many streets in D R Congo are empty and there is little sign of activity in the usually bustling towns of the Central African nation.


The opposition is increasing pressure on President Kabila to step down as his official mandate to govern is over.

 

However the government has responded with the appointment of a new cabinet which includes members of the opposition to lead the country under President Kabila.

 

To get a better understanding of what was happening in DR Congo, SBS Swahili spoke with our correspondent Byobe Malenga.
